Abstract

The first part of the thesis deals with the analyses of selected members i.e. rotor and pawl of a car lock. This analysis is based on tests that must comply with each lock. Analyses were performed on four different types of locks. Next step was definition of repeating optimization, which is on rotor of these locks. Design optimizations of rotor latch X152 were the result of analyses. Effort was to save material without a negative impact on function of component which is controlled by strength tests. It was selected the final ideal geometry from design of optimizations. There are defined a set of recommendations to improve the design of future members of the locks in the final part of this thesis. Analyses were performed using the finite element method in ANSYS software.
