Abstract

This thesis is focused on creating a measuring system with use of laser triangulation rangefinder from RIFTEK company, which is controlled by STM32F4 – Discovery microcontroller. Measurement results are displayed on user application, which was programmed in Visual Studio environment. Communication between rangefinder and microcontroller is secured by RS 485 fieldbus, communication with user computer is using TCP/IP protocol. For microcontroller configuration and creating communication protocol was used Keil μVision 5 development environment. Theoretical part is describing STM32 microcontroller peripherals, mainly focused on RS 422, RS 485 and Ethernet fieldbuses. RIFTEK triangulation laser rangefinders and their communication protocol are described also.
