Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of different shapes of longitudinal members
for the TVK10M trailer and their strength analysis. The aim is to verify the existing
solutions and propose alternatives with regard to weight and strength. The calculations
have been carried out using the finite element method in Simcenter 3D. Five designs with
different geometries and wall thicknesses are presented, for which the stress and deflection
variation was monitored. The results show that a significant weight reduction can be
achieved without compromising the mechanical properties. The best results are achieved
by the "accordion"variant with a weight reduction of 44,26 % compared to the original
design.
