Abstract
This master’s thesis focuses on the design of a device for conveying compressed cardboard intended for reuse and recycling. The proposed conveyor represents the input element of a production line being developed by the company Bellmer in cooperation with the universities Brno University of Technology and VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. Part of the assignment is the design and construction of this conveyor system.
The introductory section presents the company Bellmer and its history, followed by a description of the project itself and its significance. The next chapter is devoted to a review of conveyor systems, including their classification, design solutions, possible applications, and a comparison of their advantages and disadvantages.
The main part of the thesis focuses on the design and description of the conveyor structure, particularly the frame, drive system, mechanical transmission, roller mounting, and speed control of the transported load.
The final section contains technical calculations, specifically the calculation of the required electric motor power and its subsequent selection, the design and dimensioning of the chain transmission according to ČSN 02 3311, and the calculation of bearing life. These calculations are also repeated for the second part of the conveyor, which operates with accelerated movement of the transported material.
