Optimization of Time Efficiency, Quality and Sustainability in the Supply Chain

Abstract

The bachelor thesis is about the analysis of three different aspects of a supply chain. The supply chain suitable for study is Colgate-Palmolive based in New York, USA. The chapters include a general overview of the supply chain in terms of history and focus first. Then analysis of the current state of the organization with respect to regional distribution, market share and financial health of the company worldwide. To carry quality analysis, I chose to focus on the US market and conduct in depth research on the toothpaste industry in which Colgate is a major competitor. The statistics and results were retrieved form real time customer reviews in correlation with marketing claims of the product chosen. Last, sustainability analysis was conducted on three levels. The analytical part identified areas of improvement. The final chapter consists of my suggestions to improve the performance of the supply chain.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou tří různých aspektů dodavatelského řetězce. Dodavatelským řetězcem vhodným ke studiu je Colgate-Palmolive se sídlem v New Yorku v USA. Jednotlivé kapitoly obsahují nejprve obecný přehled dodavatelského řetězce z hlediska historie a zaměření. Poté analýzu současného stavu organizace s ohledem na regionální distribuci, podíl na trhu a finanční zdraví společnosti po celém světě. Pro provedení analýzy kvality jsem se rozhodl zaměřit na americký trh a provést hloubkový průzkum odvětví zubních past, ve kterém je Colgate hlavním konkurentem. Statistické údaje a výsledky byly získány z recenzí zákazníků v reálném čase v korelaci s marketingovými tvrzeními vybraného výrobku. Na závěr byla provedena analýza udržitelnosti na třech úrovních. Analytická část identifikovala oblasti, které je třeba zlepšit. Závěrečnou kapitolu tvoří mé návrhy na zlepšení výkonnosti dodavatelského řetězce.
