Abstract

In the introductory part of this bachelor thesis the problems of hydrogen production and sto-rage are discussed, accompanied by the possibilities of converting hydrogen into electricity. Then, based on availability and complexity, the type of vehicle to be converted to electric power equipped with a rechargeable fuel cell is selected. This is followed by the design of the electric scooter con-cept with the identification of the specific main components from the recharging system to the bat-tery to the powertrain. Furthermore, a virtual vehicle should be created from the available compo-nent data and simulated in Op-timum Lap on a short section. The simulation should then be used to determine the basic characteristics of the rebuilt vehicle. The characteristics will be evaluated at the end of the thesis with a recommendation for a follow-up vehicle development procedure.
