Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of automation and robotization of the grinding pro-cess in industrial production. The aim of the thesis is to comprehensively map the available technologies for robotic grinding and to subsequently analyse the technologies in use. Based on the available resources and the research conducted, possible conceptual solutions for ro-botic grinding workstations were proposed. The theoretical section summarizes the fundamentals of grinding technology. The core of the thesis is an extensive review of integrators, ranging from manufacturers of active grinding ef-fectors with pressure force control to systems for automated abrasive replacement, as well as an analysis of case studies on the robotization of grinding technology. The findings are applied to four-tiered conceptual designs of robotic workstations for selected reference parts (ranging from small workpieces to large-scale assemblies). The thesis demonstrates the current feasibility of automating the grinding process and its ben-efits for productivity, safety, and the repeatability of the entire process.
