Abstract

Calcium sulfate nanoparticles with well-designed structure and morphology have great potential applications in food purification or oil recycling based on water removal. Herein, we studied the effects of micro-environment on the synthesis of calcium sulfate nanoparticles combining with microemulsion method and ion-exchange reaction, and both calcium sulfate nanoparticles were fabricated at room temperature. After characterization, it indicated the morphology and phase of calcium sulfate could be and regulated by different Ca sources solids under this microemulsion method. After modified by gelatin, calcium sulfate nanoparticles performed good water resistance properties and well separation on the water-in-oil emulsion. It revealed the effects of micro-environment during the synthesis of mineral salt nanomaterials which would deepen their applications as food purification and waste oil recycling in the future.
