Optimalizace zvedáku ventilu OHV rozvodu pro odstranění pittingu

Abstract

ONDRAČKA, Petr. Optimization of OHV valve lifters to eliminate pitting. Ostrava, 2026, Master’s Thesis. Ostrava: VSB – Technical university of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Department of Machine Parts and Mechanisms, Thesis supervisor: doc. Ing. Aleš Vysocký, Ph.D. The thesis addresses the issue of pitting formation on valve lifters in Tatra combustion engines. The introductory part describes the individual components of the engine’s valve train, followed by an analysis of the contact between the cam and the lifter, including possible lubrication regimes. The next section focuses on the analysis of the current design solution, summarizing existing knowledge and evaluating previously conducted tests aimed at eliminating the problem. This analysis is followed by the proposal of a new design solution. Calculations of the current design were carried out, along with Hertzian pressure calculations for the newly proposed concept. In the final part, a strength analysis is presented, and the new solution is compared with the current state.
