Abstract

This thesis deals with the design of injection systems for diesel engines. The principles of operating a diesel engine are presented in the introduction. The second part contains the combustion characteristics of diesel fuel and the problems of diesel engine emissions. The various types of injection systems can be found in the third part, presented in chronological order from oldest to newest. The final part contains a detailed description of the two most advanced PD and CR systems, along with their evaluation in terms of behavior during failure, operating costs and maintenance. The conclusion presents the results of this evaluation, in which there are examples of the systems in use and also considerations for possible future development.
