Abstract

This thesis is based upon the application alternatives of the photo-voltaic cells in the service of unmanned aerial vehicles. The first part is focused on the history and development of the solar power propelled unmanned aerial vehicles worldwide and analysis of the photo-voltaic cell propelled electric UAV application possibilities. The second part introduces mathematical formulas for energy and mass balance calculation. The final part of this thesis suggests usable photovoltaic cells and electro propulsions for real UAV, basing on calculated dependences of the needed power and UAV mass.
