Abstract
The current work focuses on designing and static structural analysis of latch and striker assembly using CATIA V5 and ANSYS Workbench. Three dimensional sets of latch closure parts are designed and assembled with two different position of striker assembly in transverse and longitudinal positions to determine the maximum equivalent stress and total deformation. The adequate details and guidance for performing this analysis are provide by Brose Fahrzeugteile Gmbh & Co namely latch model, material properties of each part, constraints, loads to be applied and their directions. The total deformation and max equivalent stress results from 3 sets in each direction are to be compared and the best set on each direction is determined.
