This thesis, presented here deals with the technology of production of tram axles. At the beginning I present the history of trams in the country and the main parts of the tram. Also describe the machining of mechanical parts – which are the largest parts. The main part of thesis describes the technology of production tram axles, materials from which they are manufactured, heat treatment preparation, execution of prescribed tests after heat treatment. Technological process of production of one type of axle including the design of technological equipment, machinery, tools, jigs, some operations even counting unit cutting conditions and machinery times. Also I mention cutting conditions recommended by the manufacturer of instruments. In conclusion, I evaluate technical and economical indicators of production tram axles.
